Day 18 of Becoming A Better Parent
This one is more for when their older in my opinion. Reality TV, movies, television series and music – they all portray life and love to be something it isn’t necessarily like. How and when are you going to make sure your childs perspective on these things is realistic…? Or do you let them be a dreamer? What is better? Hmmm….
How much does not just reality tv but movies and tv shows change your idea of how life should or could be? I know that sometimes if I watch too much of a show at once (like 8 episodes of Desperate Housewives) and a married couple are like over the top in love with one another and doing romantic things – I leave that show feeling disappointed in my own life for a few moments even though I know that what ever it was I just saw, isn’t actually happening in real life, and that whatever I was watching was unrealistic. How do you think these things can affect your kids points of views? But I also think its important for us as parents and husbands and wives to be realistic about our own lives too.
